Hi Folks,
The book I chose to review is Why Now Is The Time To Crush It! by
Gary Vaynerchuk
. This short, engaging read focuses on how to utilize social media to monetize your passion. Vaynerchuk is the creator and host of
Wine Library TV
,
a popular wine video blog. In the book, Vaynerchuk outlines a clear social media marketing plan that integrates all of the major sites. His approach is that of total authenticity; so long as a person is engaged in their passion, there is no need for anything less.
This book will definitely appeal to anyone with an entrepreneurial mindset. There's a plethora of ideas and insights on how to create your brand, as well as an endless supply of motivation to start out on your own.
Key Takeaways:
- Social media will only continue to gain prominence, ignore it at your own risk
- Traditional marketing platforms are being phased out
- An effective social media marketing plan involves all of the major players (Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, etc.)
- So long as you are passionate, you will find an audience
Awesome work. I am looking forward to checking this book out. I like that Passion is one of the determining factors to "Crushing it." IL think that will really touch home with me, and I am looking forward to checking it out. Thanks Spencer.
ReplyDeleteNice summary.
ReplyDeletePassion is absolutely the key word in the title/subtitle - consistently used throughout.
I've not finished reading it yet, but he seems to have grounded the whole thing nicely (versus his elevating passion and enthusiasm) by repeatedly mentioning work, hard work, working hard, working your tail off and working late into the night.
To his mind, if you're driven by passion, it won't feel like work and - more fundamentally - you can't help but do the work.
Love your choice of books. Again, good summary.
Are you going to use any of the principles for your upcoming gym?
ReplyDeleteGreat book to pick Spencer! It was great to see that someone listed as "That Guy" in my book - "Attention! This Book Will Make You Money" is doing well with his blog and now his book. Great review, and video, showing his personality really allows us to see his bubbly and outgoing way that makes him thrive.
